Who we are: BMRB Social research is a specialist research division within BMRB (British Market Research Bureau). BMRB is the longest-established research company in Britain, having been incorporated in 1933. Throughout that time, the company has been in the forefront of research developments and innovation, and holds a high reputation for quality and integrity of our research. Much of our work is for government departments, publicly funded institutions, trade associations, and charities. Much of our work, especially for government bodies, is published, and has to withstand close public scrutiny. Government policy is often based on the results of our research. We believe strongly in conducting research to the highest possible standards.
Within BMRB are a number of research units each dedicated to their own area of expertise - media and market research, stakeholder relationship measurement and management and social policy and public interest research.
What we do: BMRB Social Research provides dedicated expertise in conducting social policy and public interest research. We have extensive experience of both quantitative and qualitative research, being one of the largest providers of public policy research in the UK. Our team comprises around 50 dedicated social researchers, with both breadth and depth of experience.
Projects conducted by the team range from small-scale surveys in response to immediate policy needs, through to large-scale, long term studies for major government departments. We offer all forms of sampling, from rigorously conducted probability sampling through to targeted samples of 'hard to reach' populations. Our clients include government departments and agencies, academic institutions and other public and voluntary sector bodies.
Quality assurances: Every project we undertake - no matter how large or small - is conducted to the highest standards of quality and technical excellence. We have a reputation for thoughtful and creative design, rigorous methodology and perceptive interpretation of findings. We go to lengths matched by few other research companies to maintain the highest levels of independence and objectivity. It is a declared policy that we do not undertake political opinion polling, nor work for any political party.
Illustrating our commitment to high quality research, we have a number of quality assurances in place:
. The MRS and ESOMAR codes of professional conduct . The ISO 20252 market research quality standard . The BS EN ISO 9001:2000 standard for quality management systems
